Disclaimer
Not attorney advice. Common Ground is a guided mediation and dispute-resolution platform. It is not a law firm and does not provide attorney advice. Using this service does not create an attorney–client relationship.
Independent counsel. We strongly recommend that each party consult an attorney at any point in the process, including before finalizing any agreement generated through the platform.
Safety. Mediation is not appropriate where there is domestic violence, coercion, or a power imbalance that prevents free negotiation. If you feel unsafe, stop and seek help immediately.
Court review. In certain matters, including but not limited to child custody, visitation, and family court proceedings, a mediated or negotiated agreement may require review, approval, and entry by a court before it becomes enforceable or finalized. Common Ground does not guarantee that any agreement will be accepted, approved, or entered by a court, and users may be required to submit the agreement to the appropriate court or seek review by an independent attorney prior to finalization.
No guarantees. Outcomes depend on the parties' willingness to engage. Common Ground makes no guarantees that a particular agreement will be reached or enforced.
